JELI, KELANTAN — The PENJANA Career Advancement Programme (CAPT) Cohort 2: Drone with UMK Jeli has successfully concluded, bringing together 46 enthusiastic participants comprising local graduates and youth eager to explore the field of agricultural drone technology.

This programme is part of Malaysia’s PENJANA initiative (Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi Negara), aimed at revitalizing the national economy by equipping Malaysians with industry-relevant technical and vocational skills. The focus on Smart Agriculture and Drone Operations highlights the growing importance of automation and data-driven technologies in transforming the agricultural landscape.

As an industry partner, TVET AustralAsia (TVETAA) played a key role in coordinating training delivery, ensuring quality modules, and facilitating hands-on exposure for all participants in the operation, maintenance, and application of drones in precision farming.

Under the guidance of professional trainers from Charlesmann Solution, participants were exposed to comprehensive modules covering flight control, GPS calibration, equipment maintenance, flight safety, and real-world applications of drones in crop spraying and land mapping.

A highlight of the programme was the corporate visit to DJI Agriculture Kelantan, where participants gained first-hand experience observing professional agricultural drone operations. They also benefited from insightful sharing sessions with experienced drone operators, learning about data analytics software, automated flight systems, and cost-effective solutions for sustainable farming.
